P&O Cruises requires vaccinations for UK sailings

P&O Cruises has unveiled a series of planned coastal cruises around the UK and will require all passengers to be vaccinated beforehand.

It will include short breaks on flagship Britannia and week-long cruises on new ship Iona.

Cruises will depart from Southampton between June and September.

With the UK vaccination programme well advanced, sailings on Britannia and Iona will be for UK resident Covid-19 vaccinated guests only, it said.

The second vaccine dose must have been taken at least seven days before departure.

Proof of vaccination and the dates given will be required and approved forms of evidence will be confirmed closer to the time of departure.

Britannia will offer three and four-night breaks and one six-night voyage from 27 June through to 19 September 2021, from £449 per person for a three-night break.

Iona will offer seven-night itineraries running from 7 August to 18 September 2021. Iona’s seven-night maiden voyage starts from £1,199 per person.

Short break itineraries include coastal cruising along the south coast of England, round trip from Southampton.

Iona’s maiden voyage will cruise the Scottish Islands to the Inner Hebrides and the island of Iona.

The ‘Voyage to the Sun’ week-long sailing on Iona will enjoy coastal cruising past the Channel Islands and along the coast of France.

“Given recent announcements, we have every hope that our guests will be able to enjoy a holiday this summer. Whilst there is still uncertainty about holidays abroad this summer, we are delighted to be able to offer our guests the ultimate escape here in the UK with the reassurance that we will take care of everything,” said P&O Cruises President Paul Ludlow.

Cruises go on sale on 22 March 2021 online on www.pocruises.com, by telephone on 03453 555 111 or through a travel agent.
