Savings of €176 per person on a like for like 7 day 4* holiday in Lanzarote Vs Killarney – the Lanzarote holiday includes return Aer Lingus flights & 7 dinners
Dublin, 24 August 2021 Click&Go, Ireland’s leading online travel agent, has conducted a price comparison on two-holiday deals, one in Ireland and one in Spain, to demonstrate the difference in cost between staycations and overseas holidays, as consumers begin to gradually return to international travel.
Click&Go is Ireland’s fastest-growing online travel company. They are a one-stop online travel shop making it quick and easy for you to book the holiday you want, in addition, their Dublin Call Centre is open 362 days per year. The online travel agent compared a week in a four-star hotel in southern Ireland with a week in the 4-star VIK San Antonio in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, and found that in addition to being cheaper, consumers would also find better value for money when choosing to book a holiday abroad.
For €683 per person, prospective holidaymakers could book seven nights in the VIK San Antonio, including bed and breakfast, dinner each night, and return Aer Lingus flights from Dublin. A similar 7 night holiday in a well-known hotel in the south of Ireland would cost €859, which is €176 more expensive per person and does not include transport or dinners.
Click&Go currently have multiple dates in September for 7 nights in the VIK San Antonio in Lanzarote, priced at €699 per person or less depending on booking dates.
Paul Hackett, CEO of Click&Go, commented, “I understand the importance of supporting domestic tourism in Ireland, however, the price point of many staycations offers are simply too high and consumers would get much better value for their money on a holiday abroad. As we have demonstrated with this comparison, you get more value for less money on a holiday to Lanzarote than you would if you stayed in Ireland.”
He continued, “We have plenty of dates left for travel in September and October; as the demand for late bookings increases as many people are making bookings for last-minute holidays abroad. As always, we encourage consumers to check the current COVID-19 guidelines of their planned destination before booking a holiday.”
